Gatlinburg, TN Pics

December 15, 2008

So today we are in Gatlinburg, TN. My mom’s brother lives here so we are visiting him, his wife and two sons. They were busy with their hotel during the day so we decided to take part in the crazy consumer culture of Gatlinburg. First stop was Ober Gatlinburg, a place on top of a nearby mountain reachable by transmission destroying road or slow moving tram. Mansi decided that she would like to undertake ice skating. I’m averse to busting my butt on the ice so I stayed on the sidelines and watched. She made a few trips around the edge while holding onto the railing and then made friends with this little girl who was skating around and she became her teacher. It started raining so we didn’t really get a chance to explore outside much.

Afterwards we went over to the Ripley’s Aquarium, not as big as the Georgia Aquarium but still nice. Stingrays were petted, giant king crabs were shrieked at and stuff toy turtles were lusted after.

Mansi's skating teacher Possible arithmetic mistake on the Tram Turtle! Pink and Purple fish

Clockwise from the top-left: Mansi’s skating teacher (very adamant about Mansi not quitting), a possible arithmetic mistake or lack of units or one giant dude, Turtle!, pretty pink/purple fish that Mansi liked.

I apologize for the lack of quality in these pictures but I only had my old razr. My new phone takes much nicer pictures. I’ve got all the pics online here.
